Food Delivery and Meal Sites

Whether you like to enjoy a healthy and delicious meal with friends or are uncomfortable cooking at home, Schenectady County Senior Long Term Care works with several partners to offer meal sites and delivery services to seniors in Schenectady County. 

Are you 60 +, recently retired, new to the area, or have been in the area for a while but looking to enjoy a good meal with other seniors in the community?  If so, our Congregate Meal Program is for you.

Gather with friends and enjoy activities, guest speakers, and dietitian-approved meals at the following locations, 11:00 am-1:00 pm.  Meals are served at noon.

  • Bishop Scully Hall, Our Lady of Fatima, Duanesburg, 1735 Alexander Road, Delanson, NY   
  • Glenville Senior Center, 32 Worden Road, Glenville, NY   
  • Jewish Community Center, 2565 Balltown Road, Niskayuna, NY 
  • Ten Eyck, 375 Broadway, Schenectady, NY  

 

Reservations are required. Suggested contribution: $2.00. Guests under 60 are required to pay $10.00.

Transportation is available for those who are unable to drive but want to attend meal sites.

Are you 60 +, live alone, have health issues that prevent you from preparing your own meals?  Are you afraid to use the stove? Do you want to remain in your home for as long as possible? 

Do you have a loved one, who you are concerned about cooking alone in the home?  Do you live far from your loved one and want to make sure he or she is getting the best care so that he or she can remain independent in their home?  Does your loved one, 60 or older, have health issues that make it dangerous to cook alone?

If so, Home delivered meals is a great option for you.  Meals are dietitian approved. Meals can be delivered daily.  Holiday and weekend meals are frozen and can be microwaved.

If you qualify, a second cold meal can also be delivered with main meal.

Qualifications for Home Delivered Meals includes living alone, unable to drive, unable to prepare meals due to physical disability.

Suggested contribution is: $3.50
