Nutrition Counseling

Are you or your loved one struggling with health issues and looking for ways to improve your eating habits?  Are you tired of cooking and seeking easier methods to prepare healthy meals?  Are you in a rut and ordering comfort food more than you would like?  If so, a Nutrition Counselor is available to meet with you to help you prepare easy and healthy meals. 

Nutritional Education program promotes optimal health to individuals, families, and groups. Information and resources are available on food preparation and safety, how to stretch food dollars, preserving food, reducing fat in the diet, and other nutrition-related topics.

Farmer's Market Coupons

Once a year, the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) gives eligible, low-income adults, 60 years and older, 25 dollars in coupons to buy locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers’ market coupons to buy locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers’ markets in New York State.  Booklets are available in July and may be used until the end of November.  Each senior in an eligible household is qualified for one booklet per program year. Am I Eligible? 

  1. I am 60 years of age or older

and

2. My monthly income is at or below: 

a. $2,096/ month (for a one-person household)
b. $2,823/month (for a two-person household)
c. $3,551/month (for a three-person household)

and

3. I have not recieved Farmers Market coupons from any other location this year.
