The Schenectady County Legislature has partnered with Schenectady County Historical Society to celebrate Independence Day at the historic Mabee Farm, the oldest working farm in New York’s Mohawk Valley.

This free family-friendly event begins at 5:00 p.m. with games and activities. Grand Central Station will perform, and fireworks will be presented after dark. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

“The historic Mabee Farm is the perfect place to celebrate Independence Day here in Schenectady County,” said Schenectady County Legislator Cathy Gatta, Chair of the Tourism, Arts & Special Events Committee. “Enjoy a night full of fun, music, games, and fireworks with your family, friends, and neighbors at one of the most picturesque spots along the Mohawk River.”

We're honored to host this celebration at Mabee Farm, which has been home to generations of Americans and Patriots in its long history,” said Mary Zawacki, Executive Director of the Schenectady County Historical Society. “Many of America's founding values were nurtured here in Schenectady and the Mohawk Valley, so this is a fitting place to celebrate America and our shared American values of freedom and equality.”

Date: Monday, July 3, 2023

Time: 5:00 p.m – 9:00 p.m.

Location: Mabee Farm Historic Site, 1100 Main Street in Rotterdam Junction
