The Schenectady County Legislature congratulates Proctors on their announcement of another outstanding season of Broadway productions coming in 2024 and 2025.

“Schenectady County is proud to be the home of Proctors, and we congratulate them on their upcoming season,” said Gary Hughes, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature. “Twenty years ago, the County Legislature recognized the importance of helping Proctors grow, making it a key part of revitalizing downtown Schenectady. We’re proud to have been a part of that, and we continue to support Proctors today to keep it a vital hub for arts and culture in the Capital Region and beyond.”

Schenectady County has invested nearly $20 million into Proctors since 2004, including over $11 million invested by Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority. The County Legislature kicked off Proctors’ expansion campaign with a $1 million grant and transferred the former Carl Company to Proctors, which allowed for the expansion of the theater to include a new box office, the GE Theatre, conference and retail space, and the “Addy” theatrical training and innovation center. To help them reach their final goal for the expansion campaign the Legislature authorized an additional $450,000 award to Proctors and continues its support of the theatre each year with a $200,000 annual grant from the County’s hotel bed tax.
