Schenectady County Hosts Naturalization Ceremony at Music Haven

Naturalization Ceremony

The Schenectady County Clerk, in partnership with the New York State Office of Court Administration and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, held a Naturalization Ceremony at Music Haven in Schenectady’s Central Park.

“This summer we’re holding ceremonies throughout Schenectady County to highlight some of the amazing sites and venues we have right here in our backyard,” said Schenectady County Clerk Cara M. Ackerley. “Music Haven is known for hosting international artists, which makes it a perfect place to welcome applicants from all around the world, who have chosen to become citizens of our great nation.”

The ceremony started around 9:30am this morning and 38 applicants from 17 countries took part in the event.

The Honorable Judge Michael Cuevas presided over the ceremony, which is an official session of the New York State Supreme Court. County Clerk Cara M. Ackerley administered the Oath of Allegiance to the applicants.
