County Offices Closed, COVID-19 Call Center Continues to Operate

Schenectady County has declared a state of emergency due to a major weather event including a heavy snow fall, drifting, and icy road conditions. The state of emergency is in effect from 8am on December 17, 2020 to 5am on December 18, 2020 and restricts travel to essential personnel.

The rate and volume of snowfall has created challenging conditions for plows. While crews continue working, it will take some time for roads to be cleared.

County offices are closed, with the exception of Schenectady County Public Health Services’ COVID-19 call center, which continues to operate. Community testing scheduled for today at SUNY Schenectady has been cancelled.
